Welcome to Rome

Dear Colleagues and Friends,
you have given us the privilege to organize the 52th Edition of the Inner Ear Biology Workshop in Rome on September 12th-15th, 2015. The IEB Workshop is traditionally an extraordinary forum for understanding the mechanisms of ear diseases and for translating them into the clinic.

In recent years the research concerning cochlear implants, cell regeneration and transduction, innovative drugs and stem cells application and genetic engineering have opened an exciting window on the possible treatment of sensorineural hearing loss.

Our aim is to promote the progress in Audiology and Otology by increasing the dialogue between basic research and clinical practice. In conjunction with the Workshop there will be an opening day Symposium focused on the perspectives of the inner ear research "from the Lab to the Clinic".

We believe that you will also enjoy our beautiful city. Rome will welcome you with its magnificent history, its churches and basilicas, its museums and piazzas. At the same time, "la città eterna" is honored to host such outstanding researches and hopes that all of you will represent.

September is also the most beautiful season to visit Rome, and an attractive social program has been planned for all delegates and accompanying persons.
We are very much looking forward to meeting you in Rome!

Gaetano Paludetti and Diana Troiani
